Objectives: | To create a welcoming, safe, and engaging atmosphere for members after school while helping to build positive relationships with youth. |
General Role & Responsibility: | Gamesroom Staff:
· To lead and oversee activities for members ages 7-12 years old · To aid in maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly Gamesroom space Specialized Programming · Twilight Programming (an extension of Gamesroom staff and staffing needs, including clean up at the end of the night. · Implement and Run specialized activities (i.e. Girls Group, Boys Group, Dance, etc.) |
Work Hours/Commitment: | Gamesroom: 2 pm – 6 pm
Specialized Programming Staff: 6 pm – 8:30 pm |
Skills & Qualifications: | · Positive and friendly attitude
· Willingness to engage with members |

Kid’s Café – Marr Building |
Objectives: | Responsible for assisting in all daily kitchen operation and preparations. |
General Role & Responsibility: | · Food preparation of all meals served. This includes chopping vegetables, breaking down, cutting or grinding meat, weighing and mixing ingredients, washing and preparing vegetables, storing food, and more.
· Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc. |

Skills & Qualifications: | · A team player with good communication skills
· Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils · Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen · Knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation required. · Experience working with children. · Great communication skills |
How the Role fits in with the work of BGCD? | We are focused on providing our members with nutritious meals in accordance with the Department of Education, Bureau of Nutrition. Meals incorporate proteins, grains and fruits and vegetables, as recommended by the Department of Education, and are cooked fresh every day on location.
We serve over 300 meals per weeknight during the school year and over 700 meals per day during the summer months. |

Reports to: | Katy Sullivan; Fine Arts and Media Director |
Program Area/Location: | Art Program – McLaughlin Building 4th Floor |
Objectives: | · To help out in the Art Room
· To assist the Fine Arts and Media Director, Katy · To assist the members during art classes |
General Role & Responsibility: | · Help members with art projects and encourage creativity
· Assist with preparation of materials for upcoming projects · Wash brushes and fill paint · Light cleaning including cleaning up tables and sinks, sweeping floors, etc. · Overall organization of the room |
Work Hours/Commitment: | Weekly or daily between 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm |
Skills & Qualifications: | Friendly, imaginative, creative and upbeat. Does not need to be particularly artistically trained, but willing to learn about projects and help out. |

In art, we positively push the members to be creative and think outside the box. We want them to realize that there is no such thing as, “right/wrong” or “good/bad” art, but rather individual and unique creative processes and work. |

Objectives: | Assist with/engage in teen programming and activities to support teen members at the club and help to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the Teen Center. |
General Role & Responsibility: | Work with staff to develop academic and social skills of individual members in our education program. |
Work Hours/Commitment: | Monday through Friday from 2pm – 5pm |

· Passionate about working with youth · Enthusiastic about the BGCD mission and the Teen Program · Team and relationship building skills |
