Aquatics
Title of Role: Aquatics/Swim Lessons
Reports to: Manna Doreen; Aquatics Director
Program Area/Location: Art Program – McLaughlin Building 4th Floor
Objectives: ·    To help out in the Pool Area

·    To assist with Swimming Lessons or with the Swim Team/during meets

General Role & Responsibility: For Lessons:

·

For Swim Team:

·      Meet Cards: during races help members with meet cards/ensure they are taken to the scoring table

·      Bullpen: Help ensure smooth running of bullpen (where the swimmers are set up in heats)

·      Starters: announce which races are being run and give starting signal

·      Timers: use stop watch to track time of swimmers’ races

·      Ribbons: Help give out ribbons during home meets

Work Hours/Commitment:
Skills & Qualifications: To be eligible to volunteer, must be able to demonstrate the following skills:

·      Jump into deep water from side of pool

·      Maintain position in water by treading or floating for 1 minute

·      Rotate one full turn then turn as necessary to orient to the exit point

·      Swim front crawl and/or elementary backstroke for 25 yards

General Athletics
Title of Role: General Athletics Volunteer
Reports to: Brendan McDonald; VP of Programming
Program Area/Location: Marr Gym or Nike Court
Objectives: Assist with or create athletics programming to create a positive learning experience for members. Maintain a safe and encouraging environment.
General Role & Responsibility: ·      Support members by supervising gym time

·      Create a welcoming atmosphere to ensure guests of events have a positive and fulfilling experience while also learning new skills

·      Promote inclusive atmosphere where all skill levels are valued

·      Come up with engaging activities/games for members

Work Hours/Commitment: At least on hour weekly Mondays through Fridays 2pm – 6pm
Skills & Qualifications: ·      Positive and friendly attitude

·      Experience with coaching is helpful though not required

Sport-Specific Coach
Title of Role: Sports Specific Coach
Reports to: Brendan McDonald; VP of Programming
Program Area/Location: Marr Gym, Nike Court, wherever teams are playing
Objectives: Support a team of members to teach new skills and teamwork while maintaining a positive environment for all members regardless of their skill level.
General Role & Responsibility: ·      Support members by coaching or assisting BGCD staff in coaching

·      Create a welcoming atmosphere to ensure guests of events have a positive and fulfilling experience while also learning new skills

·      Promote inclusive atmosphere where all skill levels are valued

Work Hours/Commitment: TBD; Hours are dependent on sports and season. If you are interested in being a coach, fill out our application and we will contact you about which programs we are offering at that time.
Skills & Qualifications: ·      Positive and friendly attitude

·      Experience with coaching is helpful though not required

·      Knowledge of the sport you are coaching (sports we offer include basketball, baseball, soccer, and more)

Title of Role: Fitness Instructor
Reports to: Brendan McDonald; VP of Programming
Program Area/Location: Marr Gym, Nike Court
Objectives: Share your interest in fitness with members while instructing a class that showcases your skills!
General Role & Responsibility: ·      Instruct a small group in a fitness class

·      Create a welcoming atmosphere to ensure members have a positive and fulfilling experience while also learning new skills

·      Promote inclusive atmosphere where all skill levels are valued

·      Prioritize member safety

Work Hours/Commitment: Any time between 2pm and 8pm Monday through Friday
Skills & Qualifications: ·      Certification in theme of class you want to teach

·      Positive and friendly attitude

·      Experience with teaching is helpful though not required
