DORCHESTER, MA — Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester’s Welcoming Wednesday at our Walter Denney Youth Center celebrated Hispanic Heritage Night with the neighborhood from Harbor Point. Members, families and friends shared a night full of music and dancing, enjoyed festive food and together created a beautiful floral and weave mural on our fence.

To continue the celebration, BGCD Member Coordinator, Tara L. created a beautiful lobby display honoring Hispanic Heritage. This display serves as a learning piece to learn more about the Hispanic culture as our members enter the building each day.

BRIDGTON, ME — Our members finished off an amazing summer with a week at Camp Northbound in Bridgton, Maine! BGCD is thrilled to announce the success of our 15th year of Camp Northbound!

For the first time in 3 years, members and staff rode up with pure excitement, eager to get back to camp. This year, many of our members arrived at Northbound for their very first time and left with amazing new memories and can’t wait to return next year. Throughout the week, members enjoyed activities such as swimming, arts & crafts, ninja warrior obstacle courses, tubing and so much more. Members took part in some friendly competition between the Blue team and Green team in Color War – Congratulations to this year’s winners: Green Team!

There were also special events such as a talent show, a dance, lip sync battle, and camp fires for everyone to relax after a long day.

Thanks to everyone for the best summer ever!

Camp Northbound is a time to spend with friends while doing all of their favorite outdoor activities. Members have the chance to relax before they start the new school year ahead. With the help from our friends at Camp Micah and the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, BGCD has an unforgettable end of the summer and memories to last a lifetime.
