DORCHESTER, MA — Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester, Athletics Director, Kamilah and Teen Director, Ariana started a Social Justice Program for our teens this summer. From 12 – 3 PM, teens and staff gather to talk about topics that are going on in today’s world, especially those that are meaningful and impactful for them personally. So far, the teens have cleaned our Nike court here at BGCD and created space for brand new planters to be made to help beautify the community. They have also created passionate and expressive artwork reflecting their feelings on important social justice topics. They even hosted Denise Santos, Community Outreach Coordinator from City of Boston Mayor Marty Walsh’s Office, where they discussed bullying and other current events going on in their lives.

Next on their agenda, Boston Police Officer Reyes will be coming to talk to the teens to be able to help them discuss their thoughts and feelings in a productive and helpful way.
