DORCHESTER, MA — The Middles began their 30 Day Positive Affirmation Challenge with looking in the mirror and reflecting on their likes and dislikes about themselves. They anonymously shared thoughts and next meeting they will take one negative statement and change it to a positive affirmation.

For the continuation of this challenge, members will look in the mirror and say their positive statements 3 times a day for 30 days. This incredible challenge will hopefully demonstrate how the power of thinking can transform your life and make the middle school years a little less stressful.

We have started this challenge in conjunction with our 27th Annual New England Women’s Leadership Awards. This year’s theme will incorporate the importance of creating positive thoughts that turn in to positive behaviors. We are so excited to hear their feedback!

BRIDGTON, ME — On January 11th, over 100 members and chaperones were the guests of our friends at Shawnee Peak in Maine for an exciting day of skiing and snowboarding.

Chet Homer, owner of Shawnee Peak, has hosted BGCD for the past 10 years in this annual staple on the program calendar. Participating members received donated lessons, equipment and lift tickets for the day, and transportation was provided.

Our thanks to Chet Homer, Geoff Homer and the entire Shawnee Peak team for another great day on the slopes. Here’s to 10 years and many more!
